At the last Startup Club event, I asked Geoffrey Kwitko if he believed in luck and after much discussion Michael Kubler finally chimed in with a quote from Roman philosopher Seneca, “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.”

Ditch the "Keeping up with the Joneses" Mentality

I was talking to my mum (one of my financial role models) yesterday about my blog. She said that she liked the article "Set Goals and Get a Wealth Mindset" but she offered me an alternate hypothesis.

She said, "I agree that if you think poor, you'll be poor. But if you think rich, when you're not rich you will be poor. You get this when you spend like you earn more than you do. This is the key difference between income and wealth."

Set Goals and Get a Wealth Mindset

If you think poor, you'll be poor. It's that easy, it's what we call a self fulfilling prophecy. If you keep saying, "I never have enough money" then you will never have money.

Conversely, if you think rich, you'll be rich. Tell yourself that you've got more than enough wealth to survive. Give generously and think of those less fortunate than you.
